BTE Renewables congratulates Makwana on appointment as Eskom board chair

Mr Mpho Makwana, has yesterday with immediate effect resigned as a member of BTE Renewables’ board of directors, following his appointment by the Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr Pravin Gordhan, as the new chair of the state power utility, Eskom Holdings.

Makwana served on BTE Renewables’ board for more than a decade, and participated and chaired in various subcommittees, and was a strong voice in defining BTE Renewables’ contribution to Just Transition.

“It has been a pleasure being part of the growth and success of BTE Renewables. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a strong and diverse team. I am certain more future achievements await BTE Renewables; I wish all staff and my now former board colleagues the very best of success,” said Mr. Mpho Makwana.

“On behalf of the board of BTE Renewables I would like to thank Mr. Makwana for his significant and valued contribution over the last 11 years. We will miss him but are delighted that he will be taking on such an important position with Eskom, and we wish him every success in the years ahead,” said Mr. Barry Lynch, Chairman of BTE Renewables’ Board of Directors.
